Appointment of the Provincial for the Province of Canada

14/04/2008: Canada

On March 24, 2008, the General Council named Brother Bernard Beaudin, 66, as the next Provincial of the Province of Canada. Bernard worked as an educator in the Marist schools in Canada and as a formator in the novitiate of the Province of Southern Africa. He has also served on many international committees for the Institute. He has directed retreats and renewal sessions and was an active member of the commission that wrote the document on Marist spirituality.

Bernard is a kind, religious man, as well as a happy and dynamic Brother with a generous and passionate heart. It is, therefore, no surprise that the Brothers of Canada joyfully welcome him as their new leader. During the past six years, he has served as Vice-Provincial of Canada. He holds a doctorate in Mariology and looks forward to a future of care and service of his fellow Brothers of Mary.
