The 2010 Hermitage Pilgrimage and Study Tour

13/05/2010: Australia

The international community at LHermitage has welcomed, from 10 to 18 April, its first large group of pilgrims to its new facilities: over thirty from the Province of Sydney and the District of Melanesia.

The Marist Pilgrims, brothers and lay, spent ten days at LHermitage visiting and praying together with Marcellin. By visiting the sites associated with the early formation of the Institute and the first brothers, these contemporary Marists from Oceania grew together in shared faith and spirituality.

Presenters included Br Jim Jolley (FMSI), Br Michael Green (Patrimony Committee), Br Neville Solomon (LHermitage Community), Mrs Carole Wark and Br Anthony Robinson (Sydney Province) and Louvain theologian, Fr Kevin Lenehan.

The international community of LHermitage and the pilgrims shared hospitality, Eucharist and prayer. The new spirit of this Marist sacred site has indeed captured the hearts and minds of these pilgrims who return energized for realizing Marcellins vision for the young in Oceania.
