The institutional educational project



Reference point for the various educational works of Ibérica

At the beginning of July, the Works Animation Team presented to the Teams of Direction of the educational works theInstitutional Educational Project.  This document has been drawn up with the idea of driving our mission with its gaze directed towards the future, strengthening the common ties which characterize and distinguish us, while taking into account the singularity of each of our educational works.

Today, in the globalised world in which we live, it will not be possible for us to see ourselves as closed and unique schools; we are called to grow and develop from the institutional project which we wish to bring to life. We believe that the wider participation in drawing it up will guarantee its comprehension and the possibility of adapting the educational project of each work to the institutional measure we have defined.

We think that we are called to the development of a network of internal relationships, to give reality to a crucial and critical act today such as the sharing of knowledge, to break down barriers between the different territorial demarcations in which we are present, to bring into relationship the different departments, local teams, persons... as well as the close relationship with the provincial animation teams as the principal ones responsible for dynamizing the mission.

We are called to live in relationship, and in this call we understand the importance of communication. Educational innovation is not nourished by the storing up of knowledge but by its permanent circulation. We are called to create networks of knowledge, centres and persons.

We believe that the evolution and the future of the educational institutions will proceed through sharing and communication as much internally as between the institutions themselves. We need, therefore, institutional educational communities. Today it makes no sense to have centres with the same charism and within the same Institution making their ownEducational Centre Project in a separate form.

More than a new plan or a manifesto of good intentions, theInstitutional Educational Project is an integrated file of active documents of diverse nature, origin, scope and force so as to be subject to change. It incorporates very different chapters, such as the institutionalProper Character or the curricular activities and, at the same time, shares the structure of theEducational Centre Project. It is a question, then, of co-ordinating the shared global aspects which anInstitutional Educational Project supposes with the specifics proper to each centre.

Our Institutional Educational Project includes the following parts:

  • Theproper character which defines the Institution’s reason for being and its  primordial aim with respect to the centres it directs, the Vision and horizon for which we are heading, the institutional dream, our Mission in society and in the Church, the Values which operate as driving forces for the educational activity, and the specific Competences which distinguish us as an Institution.
  • An analysis and reading of the context, which includes sociological, cultural, educational, religious aspects... as much with respect to the titular Institution itself as to its immediate surroundings and to society in general.
  • The strategic courses for which we have opted, derived from our institutional Mission and our Vision and future horizon, chosen from among a multiplicity of options in virtue of their greater trascendence, the urgency or the priorities which we have marked out as a Province for the immediate future. These strategic courses will take concrete form in action plans.
  • The plans and programming, which can be of four types: plans of leadership and management, educational-pastoral plans, strategic planning and annual plans. The plans are an instrument for developing and putting into practice specific aspects of the strategic choices adopted by the titularInstitution or by the centre.
  • The curricular activities, which have as fundamental sources the curriculum and the norms of arrangement approved by the respective autonomous Community, and the documents of the institution or the centre which determine the orientation and meaning of the educational activity.
  • The organization of the centre, which should come marked out by two sources of inspiration: the Manual of operations, common to all the centres of the Province of Ibérica and the Regulations of internal government, proper to each centre by virtue of its specific characteristics.

TheInstitutional Educational Project has to be the reference point for all the different educational works of the Province. It is a matter of one instrument more in our process of responding to the new challenges posed by the society of today and, more specifically, the educational task.
