First profession at the interprovincial novitiate of Passo Fundo

09/02/2012: Brazil

On 8 December, in the chapel of the college of Marite Conceição, Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil,  Brothers Alison Furlan, Fabrício Basso, Jader Henz, José C. Bittencourt, Luiz de Santana Lima, Miguel Fernandes Ribeiro, Neimir Mentges, Rafael Ferreira and Ronaldo Luzzi made their first profession. It was the first religious profession ceremony at the Interprovincial Novitiated of Passo Fundo, opened on 2 February 2011.

Fr Renato Biasi presided at the Mass which was concelebrated by four other priests. The   Brothers’ parents and friends were present with the Provincial Superiors of « Brasil Centro-Sul » and « Rio Grande do Sul ». The nine prepared carefully during their novitiate period and the result was a beautiful celebration. All those present were able to sense the action of God on those He loves. The newly professed thanked those who had supported them on this journey, especially their formators, who by the example of their life and through their studies « have given us the nous the base for walking on our own feet. »

The 8th of December, solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, was also the day the Marial Year in Brasil ended. During the celebration, Mary’s presence was  constant; the statue of the Mother of the New Land was solemnly enthroned, thus recalling the invitation to go in haste to a new land.
