Liceo Salvadoreño, El Salvador - Province of Central America

09/08/2012: El Salvador

At the final retreat those of us attending the School of Parents had on October 9, 2011, we received from Br. Feliciano Arroyo three proposals or invitations: to become part of theSchool of Parents, to the Marriage Encounter Movement or to form a new Fraternity.

The invitation to create a new fraternity was accepted by almost 20 parents. And so on October 22 of that year, we met in the school theater and were addressed by three members of different fraternities who familiarized us with the good things about the Movement of the Marist Family.

On November 3, 2011, we held the first meeting of the new fraternity with 8 parents gathered in the library of Liceo Salvadoreño, becoming the fifth fraternity of Colegio Liceo Salvadoreño.

We are parents wishing to know, to learn and above all to live the charism of Saint Marcellin. But the richness of this fraternity is that besides attending ourselves we bring our children, who are between 10 and 21 years of age. They have formed their own small fraternity and call themselves “The Little Brothers and Sisters of Mary”. These youngsters are guided by the children of the animators of the fraternity. At their meetings they pray, read the gospels, study a theme and play.

Presently, we are twelve members, three couples and the rest are parents, among whom is a mother who does not have direct ties with the school, but whose heart is Marist.

Our moderator is Brother Feliciano Arroyo, who knows us, motivates us, encourages us and above all cares for all and each of us in a special way, being attentive to our personal well being as well as spiritual.
