With the Provincial Vocations Animation Team, we wish to share the joy for all the actions achieved this year working in such an exciting field as that of : “Vocations animation”.
In a special way, in this description, we want to highlight two activities carried out.
On the one hand, we have had the accompaniment course level one held in the province, which yielded so much in the way of content and depth as well as in the high level of participation. The experience will surely show results in a greater and better accompaniment of our young people in the Marist works. Brothers and lay Marists were engaged in this formation, and among the latter, members of the Fraternities, catechists, etc. the objectives of the course were:
· To acquire competence and ability in accompanying persons and groups.
· To grow in personal, educational, Christian and Marist identity.
· To succeed in using the ensemble of tools and techniques for developing the accompaniment of adolescents.
· To come to know and distinguish what accompaniment is and its typology.
On the other hand, we wish also to draw attention to the first vocations experience for students held in March.
We are convinced that it was the first and that there will be others, for young people more and more are asking for specific space where they can analyse their Personal Life Project and look at their vocation. The objectives were:
· To become aware of all the functionalities we have: What is God calling me to? To discover that God speaks to us where we are.
· To provide the means for working on one’s inner life.
· To create a serene and tranquil atmosphere for relating to this God who is becoming present in our situation.
The reduced number of participants and the dynamics proposed greatly favoured a suitable climate conducive to reflection and prayer agreeable to the boys and girls, as did the work on the Word of God and the call of St Matthew to follow Jesus. It was also very positive to analyse the fact of being disciples of Christ and what this entails as in the “Letter of tears” of Father Champagnat. The meeting was held in Granada in a house of the Claretian Fathers and this family atmosphere was precious.
