CEPAM course – Brothers of Canada

13/02/2013: Mexico

At the request of the Brother Provincial of Canada, Bernard Beaudin, a course of 10 jours (15-25 January 2013) was organized at CEPAM, for 12 Brothers of the Province. It was centred on the correspondence of Marcellin Champagnat. The methodology was the one used at this formation Centre, which requires the active collaboration of the participants.

Those taking part in the course were Brothers : Denis Carrier, Denis Croteau, Gilles Hogue, Gilles Paquette, Jacques Bélisle, Jean-Denis Couture, Jean-Pierre Cotnoir, Léon Hébert, Léopold Charland, Réal Cloutier, Roger Guertin, Yvon Bédard.

Br Hugo Rivera, a Mexican at present working in Canada, looked after the administration and other matters relating to accomodation, visits to places of interest (Marist works of Guadalajara, museums, typical places, etc,).

The course also benefitted from the  collaboration of Br Jean Mance and the lay Marist Eduardo Armenta. The participants enjoyed moments of relaxation – promenades – as well as exchange with the Brothers they met. The Provincial House community hosted them on the eve of their departure for a time of conviviality and sharing, including the tasting of typical Mexican food, but « without hot spices ».

Once again, all were able to observe the simplicity of relationships and Marist fraternity inherited from the good Father Marcellin. May this experience give stimulus to our journeying as Brothers, for the benefit of the young people to whom we are sent.
