We are pleased to announce the opening of the official Marist International Novitiate of la Asunción on August 14th. . We warmly accompanied our new novice Carlos Oswaldo Hernández; with a simple but very nice celebration attended by Provincial Brothers Eduardo Navarro ((México Occidental) and Jeff Crowe (Australia) as well as José Contreras (Quillo) Provincial Councilor.

The celebration started at 7:00 P.M. at the Novitiate chapel, with the joy of the company of Father Champagnat, our Good Mother and of course our guide and friend Jesus. With our ready hearts and complete community spirit, Br.  Maestro Luis Felipe welcomed all the people present. Br. Eduardo Navarro also spoke to Carlos before giving him his Constitutions, asking him and all of us to apply them, to live the Gospel translated in the Marist Constitutions, a unique life style, linked to Father Champagnat for all of us and the Church.

When the moment arrived, Carlos received from the hands of the Provincial a copy of the Constitutions as well as the Novitiate Cross symbolizing his belonging to the Brothers of Mary. As expected Carlos read in front of everybody the third chapter that reminds us we are Champagnat's disciples.

During the same celebration three novices started their second year: Onald, Ernso and Luis who received from the Provincial the New Testament that reminds us our way of life, as Good News for the world and especially children and youngsters.

Our celebration concluded with the consecration to Holy Mary, who has done everything around us and is our Good Mother and First Superior. We joined together and sang the “sub tuum praesidium”.

To celebrate such an important event we had an enjoyable and fraternal dinner and toasted celebrating our life as Brothers and Little Brothers of Mary.
