Preparing the summer missions

17/10/2005: Chile

A group of young people belonging to the ‘March Movement’ met on September with the objective of preparing the summer missions.
This commitment forms part of a programme organised for three years to realise “Missions in Longavi”, commune and parish of the 7th Region.
Organised by its advisor, Fernando Vargas, the missionary formation programme involves the concentration in Santiago during various Saturdays in this second semester. The young people who go to the summer missions at Longavi commit themselves to the March Movement and participate in the events organised by the movement. Then, the most valiant, will start their new journey in the “CMJ”, Communities of Marist Youth, a University Youth Movement that is opening in Chile.

In the Missions of Longavi, the youth who participate come from Cordadas Espiga de Luz, Sión, Eternidad, Licantrú, Imagekantu, Sarmientos de Vida, and Omilén Kuyén. They are accompanied by their guides as well as communities from the CMJ of Santiago and Valparaíso and some of the missionaries who participated in the missions of the previous summer. It is expected that some ninety young people will participate in these missions.
