Session of Marist formation

Lycée Léonin of Néa Smyrni and Lycée Léonin of Patissia

25/02/2014: Greece

On Saturday 18 January 2014, the Lycée Léonin of Patissia hosted a Session of Marist Formation for the Marist Brothers’ communities of Ag. Kyriaki and Acharnes and for the teachers and administrative personnel of the two establishments, on the topic of "Evangelizers in the midst of youth", as presented in the book of the same title, published in 2011 and translated into Greek in 2013.

The aim of the session was to help all of us who feel we are disciples of Saint Marcellin to further our mission of transmitting the message of the Gospel to children and young people; to find ourselves at the centre of their lives and build a solid relationship of trust with them, founded on the Marist values; to become Sowers of the Gospel among them and Sowers of hope with them in our world.

After the presentation of the points of view of our students, thanks to a projection of interviews in plenary session, we shared our reflections and our vision in the work groups and then we «built» bridges, houses and human figures to symbolise our mission. Our constructions were assembled in the Main Hall of the establishment, where we prayed together for the Lord to support us in this  mission.

The Session was evaluated as fruitful for the Mission of the integral education of youth, the deepening of the relationships of collaboration and co-responsibility we have among us and with the Marist Brothers, and for our personal spiritual growth.
