A new CD of Marist hymns with Theo Mertens

02/03/2014: Belgium

In the last months the Brothers of Arlon and Habay have worked with Theo Mertens, singer-composer, on the creation of a new Marist hymn. From this has come a new CD entitled : « Around the same table ». At the approach of the bicentenary of the Foundation of the Marist Brothers, to be celebrated in 2017, the idea has come to translate into music the life, spirituality and mission shared by Marist brothers and lay persons throughout the world.

« Around the same table » is a hymn inspired by the document of the same name, in which the laity express the meaning given to their lives by the following of Saint Marcellin Champagnat.

Following on from this, the idea was also born of bringing together on a single CD all the Marist hymns composed and interpreted by Theo Mertens, a Belgian artist.

Called to be brothers and sisters, apostles of the youth of our times, it is together, in a relationship of communion, that we can realize this project and witness to the Marial face of the Church.

May these hymns inspire you and encourage you on this way.

The CD contains 13 hymns and 7 orchestral versions and is available at the price of 12 € (+ delivery expenses). A book in A4 format is also available, either in paper version (at 3 € + postage costs).

There will soon be a supply of these CDs at the General House and at Notre-Dame de l’Hermitage.

Orders can be sent to the Fraternité Champagnat de Habay: contact@lebua.be
