Mission Assembly- Nairobi 2014

The Preparatory Commission of the Second International Assembly of the Marist Mission (II MIMA) met at Notre Dame of l'Hermitage, France, for the evaluation of the Assembly and to reflect on the regional stage of the MIMA from 17 to 21 March, 2015.

It was also a time to strengthen the fraternity lived as a group during the preparation of the Assembly and to deepen Marist spirituality in the house of Champagnat.

Time was devoted to the evaluation and to know and experience more intensely the places of Marist history. Brothers Josep Maria Soteras and Emili Turú were also present in some of the moments of the encounter.

The evaluation took into consideration the experience of each member of the Commission during the preparation and conduct of the Assembly and synthesis that provided the participants. Both the participants and the Preparatory Commission thought the evaluation of the Assembly and the preparatory process was very positive. It was a beautiful, dynamic and vitalizing process in all the preparatory stages culminating in the success of the Assembly.

At the end of the meeting around the table of La Valla, Brother Emili thanked all members of the Commission for their outstanding service to the Institute and the Marist charism. Each member of the Commission also took the opportunity to express their gratitude for the more than three years of experience. Now remains the challenge of ensuring that all regions and administrative units make the process and content of the Assembly their own, in their own reality.

The Commission is grateful to all administrative units for the great effort and commitment in the preparation and conduct of the Assembly, and to the General Council for the trust placed in boosting this process at the level of the entire Institute.

Now follows the invitation to each of us to be "mystics and prophets in communion" in this new dawn of the Marist charism.
