Marist Communities of Champagnat open to dialogue

Experience of joint formation of Brothers and Laity

04/08/2015: Colombia

In Armenia, Colombia, a group of 10 Brothers and 16 Marist Lay persons, met from the 8 to the 11 of July to live an experience of formation.

After a profound lived experience and of reflection on spirituality, vocation, mission and the new relationship between Brothers and Marist Laity, helped by the methodology of small communities, the following calls and challenges ring in our mind and in our heart:

  • Foster personal and community prayer on the Gospel as foundation elements that help to maintain spirituality.
  • We feel that in participating in the birth of a new dawn in our Institute, we are invited to promote the charismatic vitality through complementarity, in communion of life of Brothers and Laity who reflect on their common and specific identity.
  • We are all mission and beginning with Baptism both Brothers and Laity, we assume the challenge to make Jesus Christ known and to make him loved.
  • We are co-responsible in the mission and we are called to leave our comfort zones and go to the peripheries, together both Brothers and Laity in common union.
  • To favor Marist communities of Champagnat open to dialogue.
  • Re-create Marist prayerful communities of Champagnat, that mutually accompany one another vocationally, bring about transformation and changes in the “Montagne” situations”.
