Brothers Today looks at Colloquium results and prepares future work

Encounter of International Commission of Brothers Today

12/02/2016: General House

The International Commission of Brothers Today met at the General House to prepare this year’s programme for vocational animators.

The Commission’s five of 10 members, which include the two brothers of the Secretariat of Brothers Today, met from Feb. 3 – 6, to continue planning their work for the next few months.

Brothers Dan, vice provincial of the United States, Peter Rodney, director of MAPAC in the Philippines and Norbert Mwila, novice director in Mozambique, gathered with the Secretariat – Brothers Tony Leon and Hipólito Gómez – just after the closure of the Church’s Year of Consecrated Life.

“The meeting was for two purposes, to do a follow up of the Marist International Colloquium on Initial Formation, which took place at L’Hermitage in September,” said Brother Dan O’Riordan, one of the members of the commission.

“The second was to look to organise the upcoming vocation animators programme which will last for five weeks in November and December at the general house,” he told the general house press office on Feb. 5.

The International Commission of Brothers Today is currently made up of 10 members that serve for a term of three years.

Their term ends in June and new members are expected to form the Commission.

The members of the International Commission of Brothers Today are: Brothers Dan O Riordan, Jean Marie Batick (District Superior of Melanesia), James Pinheiro (Brasil Centro-Norte), Norbert Mwila (Novice Director, Matola, Mozambique), Hipólito Perez (Brothers Today Secretariat, General House), Peter Rodney (Director of MAPAC in the Philippines), Tony Leon (Brothers Today Secretariat General House), Albert Nzabonaliba (Postulant Director in Mwanza, Tanzania), Juan Carlos Fuertes (Provincial of Mediterránea, Spain), Saul Placious (India).
