Creating a school network and action plan

29/09/2017: Chile

The education commission of the América Sur region met from Sept. 25 to 27 in Santiago, Chile, to strengthen and subsidize education in the region and create a network of schools.

It also made a future work plan until 2027, in line with the vision of the region, and decided to convene at least three more meetings this year.

“Undoubtedly a great instance of collaboration and learning that allows for greater Marist interaction that we hope will bring great benefits for all,” the team said on the website of the Marist Brothers in Chile.

The team wants to generate a diagnosis of the reality of the schools that allows to identify good practices, to be able to promote them. It also hopes to be able to foster teacher development, generate research and favour international student exchange programs among network establishments.

During the first days of the meeting, the team gathered in the animation house of Santa Monica where they exchanged work visions with the heads of education of Chile, an instance that according to the team “was very productive for everyone.”

During the meeting, the group also travelled to the city of Rancagua to make the first visit to a school in the Marist network of Chile, in this case, the O'Higgins Institute.
