Those forming part of the International Marist Network of Institutions of Higher Education are:

  • The founding institutions who signed the “protocol of foundation”.
  • Institutions of Higher Education which, after the signing of the foundation protocol, desire to become part of the International Marist Network of Institutions of Higher Education, and which must:
    a. Guarantee to be one of the types of IHE indicated in Article 5º of this section.
    b.  Request the Council in writing, three months before and with the signature of the  Rector of the Institution of Higher Education applying, for  its incorporation in the International Marist Network of Institutions of Higher Education. The request should include the reasons for the same.
    c. Be accepted by a simple majority of votes of the Council in plenary meeting.

The following can form part of the International  Marist Network of Institutions of Higher Education:

  • Marist Institutes of Higher Education which belong, entirely or in part, to the administrative units (Provinces or Districts) of the Marist  Institute.
  • Institutions of Higher Education which count on the active presence of Marist educators or an educational project in harmony with the   Marist Mission in Higher Education, in conformity with the conditions and circumstances proper to each situation.
  • Institutions of Higher Education which are involved in co-participation with a solidarity group of religious men or women of other Institutes or dioceses, whose fundamental documents are articulated and defined according to legal requirements and in accord with the academic, educational and pastoral needs of the different congregational charisms.

Brazil The « Católica de Santa Catarina » was born in 1973, in Jaraguá do Sul. The « Fundaçăo Educacional Regional Jaraguaense », juridically responsible for the University Centre, is a community institution, that is to say, it belongs to the regional community and is non profit. In 2009, the University Centre signed an educational alliance with the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, in order to develop capacity for the technological innovation of the institution and contribute to the development of the regional community.
