Máximo Blanco Morán

I was born in Palacios de Fontecha (León), Spain, in 1962.  I belong to the Marist Province of Compostela.  I am the older of two brothers.  I entered the Juniorate of the Marists of Leon and then I continued in the different stages of formation in Tui, Coruña and Roxos-Santiago de Compostela.  I made my first Profession in 1981 and my perpetual profession in 1987 in Leon.

I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Hispanic Philology in the University Santiago de Compostela and a Diploma course in Social education in the Pontifical University of Salamanca.

My first years of educational mission were in the field of protection of minors: in the Center Santiago Apóstol de Santa Cruz-Coruña and in the Home Volvoreta of Coruña.

I have had mission experiences in Honduras; in Working Camps, Provincial responsible of the ONGD SED, rector and professor of the Institute La Inmaculada de Comayagua-Honduras, collaborator in projects of health, rural development…

In the school educational field I have been professor in Coruña, Salamanca, professor and director of the School San José de León and rector and professor in Camayagua-Honduras.

I have had experience as Formator of Postulants in Coruña and Salamanca and of novices in Roxos-Santiago de Compostela.

These past years I coordinated the areas of mission of the Province of Compostela as responsible of the Mission Counsel.

Since some years ago I collaborate with Organisms of education as President of Catholic Schools of Castile and Leon and as President of the foundation EDUCERE

At present, I belong to the Provincial Council and I exercise the service of Vice Provincial of the Province of Compostela and daily I am general director of the Marist School La Inmaculada of Valladolid.

I think it is important to take part in community activities, witnessing the fraternity and strengthening the community.
