Joseph Chigozie Udeajah

I was born on Feb. 10, 1947, and did my primary education 1957 – 1964. Due to financial constraints, I could not go to secondary school but engaged in trading 1964 – 1968. I was the catechist of my parish 1969 – 1970, during which time I had a call to join the Marist Brothers.

I studied in the Marist Brothers’ Juniorate Uturu 1971 – 1975, completed my postulancy at Orlu in 1975 and my novitiate at Orlu from 1976 – 1977. I made my First Profession at Orlu on 17 July 1977.

I had my two-year community and apostolic experience at Holy Cross Community and Marist Brothers’ Juniorate Uturu from 1977 – 1979. Then, I did my scholasticate studies at University of Jos Nigeria from 1979 – 1983, after which I made my Perpetual Profession in August 1983.

I did my midlife renewal programme in Manziana in 1999 and taught in Marist Brothers’ Juniorate Uturu from 1983 – 1996. Later, I was the Principal of Marist Comprehensive Academy Uturu from 1996 – 1998 and a lecturer in Abia State University Nigeria from 1990 – 1997.

I was the Principal of Marist International University College Nairobi from 2005 – 2016 and the local superior of St. Joseph’s Community Uturu from 1990 – 1996.

I also served as District Councilor in Nigeria from 1984 – 1992, Provincial Councillor from 1992 – 1998 and Provincial Superior from 1998 – 2004.

I have obtained the following academic qualifications: B.Sc. Physics, University of Jos, Nigeria 1983; M.Sc. Physics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka 1990; PhD Solid State Physics, University of Nigeria Nsukka 1996.
